Who better to explain the Hobie sailing conditions at Weihai then current Hobie 16 World Champion Mick Butler? Mick is one of the few Hobie sailors to have raced in Weihai so he knows what to expect. Here is what Mick had to say about Weihai.

I attended the Weihai International Cup last year and was very impressed with the venue and organisation. I was there for over 7  days and during that time we could have raced every day in great sailing conditions. With winds ranging from 7 -22 knots everyday Weihai looks like a great location for a Hobie Worlds. With a long wide sandy beach, good sailing winds and a modern host hotel right across the road to the sailing venue Weihai is excellent. The foreshore is very pretty and there are great bars and restaurants handy . I have been sailing Hobies for 25 years and  I would have attended 12 Hobie World Championships. Weihai looks to be great venue.. I am looking forward to defending my Hobie 16 World Championships in Weihai and wish to see my many friends from around the world sailing there
