Dear Hobie sailor,

The entries for the Worlds in Fiji keep growing. Our Fijian hosts are planning some great parties and some excellent sailing on the warm tropical waters of Suva. With the sailing area behind a large natural reef the waters are protected. If you like warm tropical water, with lots of friends this is the sailing regatta for you.

While the entries are closed for the Grand Masters and Masters entries are still being taken for the Youth, Women and Open World Championships. So don’t wait and find yourself  disappointed. Enter today at www.hobieworlds.com

If you are looking for a crew for the 18th Hobie 16 World championships, then you have to look no further than the message board. There is a growing list of experienced crews wanting to help you compete at the worlds. So don’t let the “no crew” be an excuse to miss out on these worlds.

Thank you to David Favan and Burkhard Toebelmann from New Caledonia for supplying the video of the 1986 Hobie 16 Worlds. Certainly this has special footage of the Hobie history. In 21 years time when we look back at the 2007 Hobie 16 Worlds, who will we see on the stage being presented with the 18th Hobie 16 World Champions trophy?

Congratulations to South Africa for their Hobie Cat Youth Club. With the Hobie Dragoon Worlds in Langebaan in March many of the young sailors will be fighting out for the world championships. Or somebody may have trained the perfect Tiger crew for the Hobie Tiger Worlds in Langebaan.

There are many Hobie Championships around the world. Don’t forget to look at the IHCA web site www.hobieclass.com and the calendar to see what great championship is being held near you.
