Dear Hobie sailors, 


We are pleased to announce the 20th Hobie 16 Worlds Notice of Race and entry pages are now open. The Notice of Race can be downloaded from this page and the entry pages can be found here. The Hobie 16 Worlds have all the boats supplied by Hobie Cat Australasia and no other boats shall be allowed to compete. As the new boats are supplied numbers to the worlds are limited. It is recommended you enter as soon as possible as there is also a discount for those sailors entering early. The web site www.hobieworlds.com has all the information for accommodation and additional information. Accommodation is filling up fast with locations available from 5 star, renting houses and units are still available. So it is advisable not to delay entering and booking your accommodation. 


To celebrate the 20th Hobie 16 Worlds, be one of the first one hundred competitors to enter the event and you are in with a chance to win your entry fee back!


During the presentation night Hobie will draw one lucky person’s name and they will receive a full refund of your Hobie 16 Worlds entry fees.

The racing action starts this month at Travemuende, Germany for the Hobie 14, Dragoon, Tiger and Wild Cat World Championships. It is still not too late to enter and be part of the action. The late entry fee has been delayed to the 10th July.  Don't hold off and pay, enter today and save money. 


For those sailors having some difficulty with the online registration system there is alternate system. There is a form that can be downloaded here

The Hobie Tiger and Wild Cat have had their world championships moved one day later The EHCA has organized a training session prior to the worlds for the Hobie Tiger and Wild Cat with the Dragoon sailors welcome to attend. Lamberto Cesari from Italy reigning Hobie Wildcat European Champion will conduct the training.These World Championships would be a bring-your-own-boat world championships. 


Hobie 17 North Americans at Lewis and Clark Reservoir, Yankton, SD, Have been completed and the Hobie 16 Women's and open Wave North American Championships Lake Arrowhead, CA, July 21-25, 2013 have their Notice of Race. The Hobie 16 Youth & Wave Youth North American Championships Huntington Lake, CA, July 30 - August 1, 2013 have their Notice of Race


America’s Cup spectators will have a special opportunity to watch additional multihull racing as the 2013 U.S. Multihull Championship for the Hobie Alter Trophy will race on the America’s Cup course on September 7 as a unique precursor to the opening race. They have chosen the worlds largest mutlihull class, the Hobie 16 as the boat to used at this prestigious.  


EHCA has announced the 2013 Hobie 16 Europeans.The Europeans will be hosted by the Windsurfing Club Cagliari/ Italy from 11 to 20 October 2013.These days have been chosen as they are outside of the European national events and a cheap season in Cagliari with steady and great sailing conditions.


The 2013/14 Australian National Hobie Cat Championships will be held at the Adelaide Sailing Club in South Australia.Registration is on Sunday, 29th of December, 2013. Racing starts on Monday 30th of December 2013 and goes through to Friday 3rd January 2014. This is the only selection series for the Australian wishing to compete at the 2014 Hobie 16 Worlds. Already  some the past Hobie 16 World Champions have indicted they will be fighting for the Australian spots ensuring this will be a world class leading up to the Hobie 16 Worlds.
