Dear Hobie Sailor,

Welcome to 2006 and what an exciting year of Hobie sailing we have planned ahead of us. From the 24th - 28th July in Cangas, Galicia, Spain we have the 5th Hobie Tiger and 2nd Hobie Dragoon World Championships. The organisers have assisted to making these truly memorable worlds by offering free shipping from selected ports (see story below). Also the Dragoon World Championships will be on supplied boats. When you enter for the Dragoon World Championships all entrants will be given use of a new Dragoon.  With Free shipping and limited charter boats for the Hobie Tiger and supplied boat for the Hobie Dragoon, attending and racing at these worlds could not be easier. The Notice of Race and entry form are now available.

At present there is racing in Perth for the Australian Hobie Championships. There are links from this web site to take you to all the action and stories.

The IHCA Rules Committee has also posted 5 rules for comment. It is with your comments that make the Class Rules come into force, so please take the time to read the rules and comment on the proposed changes.

It is with a much sadder note the passing of Hobie Cat Australia co-founder Malcolm Mc Cartney. Malcolm was not only involved in the building of Hobies but also the Hobie Class. Malcolm served for many years as the secretary of the Australian Hobie Class. The Hobie Class sends it
condolences to the McCartney family.
